Fall Layers from Work to Weekend

While it isn’t technically “fall” yet, Labor Day Weekend tends to be the time people say #boyBYE to summer. I started burning the first fall candle of the year yesterday so, in my opinion, summer has come to an end… although, I will be making one last summer trip to the beach next weekend. However, with fall candles and pumpkin spice lattes also come fall l a y e r s! Vests, turtlenecks, ponchos, leggings, socks, sweaters, all the cozy vibes! Today, I’m sharing a few favorite fall layers from one of my favorite high quality clothing stores, J. McLaughlin. I’ve mentioned them quite a few times and I always talk about how great of quality their clothing is. Out of everything in my closet, the items I get the most wear out of are my J.McLaughlin pieces so I was thrilled to help with the launch of their fall collection this year! I’m talking layers that you can wear to work as well as relaxing on the weekend! Happy fall, y’all (kindof… just a couple more weeks).

Now that you’ve seen how you can layer for work, let’s take it to the weekend. Once the cooler temps arrive in the fall, I frequently go to vests and a button-down shirt for my weekend-wear. This definitely won’t be the last time you see my wearing this quilted black vest! The black not only goes with everything you’ll wear all season, but vests in general just look good with so many different options… sweaters, shirts, dresses, etc. I also like these plaid shirts for this time of year because, unlike flannel, the material is pretty cooling.

We have a lake behind where we live and the sunsets lately have been gorgeous! We walked down there last night and the sunset coupled with the 70 degree weather was everything. It’s so peaceful down there right before it gets dark outside when the water is smooth as glass.

Hope y’all had a happy Labor Day Weekend! I visited one of my best friends in Asheville and we had the BEST time. We found waterfalls, visited so many breweries, ate at some delicious restaurants, and just had an overall great time. I can’t wait to go back!

I’m so happy this week is a short one. I feel like I’ve been running around so much lately with barely any time to sit and breathe. I’m going to need to sign up for a yoga class stat! Anyways, hope everyone has a great week!
