Holiday Slow Down

The holiday season can be so packed full of parties, to-do’s, events, shopping, etc. that it is not hard to get wrapped up in all of the craziness.  Honestly, I have had very little time this season to stop and reflect on the year, what I’m thankful for, and let those who I am thankful for know! That is until this past weekend when I took an hour or so to write some cards to my family and friends.

I’ve always loved checking the mail and finding a handwritten letter addressed to me.  I love sending handwritten letters even more but finding the time to do that can be a struggle.  One of my favorite places to find greeting cards lately has been good ‘ol Hallmark.  When I send a letter to a friend or family member, I make sure it is a card that has some style to it or looks like something I’d pick out.  Hallmark has a huge assortment of holiday cards in their Signature Collection this year and each one is so intricate and beautiful.  One of the cards I sent actually doubled as a decoration (the Merry one at the top of this post).
Taking some time to sit down, breathe, relax, and give thanks (or even just say hello) to the people that mean the most is one of the most important things during such a busy season.  With work schedules, parties, long lists of errands, it’s too easy to forget to slow down during the holidays for what matters most.  I challenge you all to take a moment some time this week to sit down and write a note to a friend or family member, letting them know you’re thinking about them! Maybe even add some personality to your note with a card that has a piece of your own signature style.
Wishing everybody a fabulous week!
xo, Shelby
