I love starting the week with bright colors! Monday’s can be hard, intimidating, scary, and well, Monday. As a goal of my own, I’m trying to start the weeks off as positive as possible. It’s important to have something to look forward to on any seemingly long and not-so-fun day. Read below to find out how I look forward to Mondays. Also, check out this gorgeous (and on sale) pink flutter sleeve dress. For a more colorful look, I wore it with my ombre dip dye scarf. Both are pieces I definitely see myself wearing year-round!

Most people don’t like to see the weekends end but there are a few ways to help brighten up a dull Monday. Here are a few of my favorite tips:
– Wear a new outfit! Starting the week off in a new ensemble can make a huge difference for me. I’m not saying money can buy you happiness, but a new work outfit can definitely help boost confidence leading to a happier mood for a Monday back at work.
– Schedule a quick lunch date. If your work allows enough flexibility and time for a lunch date with a new or old friend, it’s a great way to brighten up the day! I’m meeting my friend, Stephanie, for lunch tomorrow and I’m excited to talk about life and wedding planning (she is a wedding planner) for a change during the long work day. Plus, instead of meeting a friend for dinner, you know you can go straight home after work and do the following:
– After work, watch a favorite TV show. My guilty pleasure is The Bachelor and I look forward to 8:00pm EST every Monday for the next couple months. Something as simple as a tv show you like can really help change how you view Mondays. Side note: Who does everyone like? I still can’t decide who my favorite is!
– Spend 20 minutes each Monday morning writing a handwritten note to a few friends. I tried this last week and it instantly gave me positive energy to start the day! Cheering others up definitely is the best way to cheer yourself up.
Those are just a few ways to help brighten up your Mondays! I hope everyone has a great start to the week and thank you so much for stopping by Pretty in the Pines.
