I grew up visiting my mom’s side of the family up in Rhode Island each summer and this past weekend we were able to visit for just a short time! It’s such a unique place. You have to visit to really understand how beautiful it is. You get a panoramic view of the ocean there are rock cliffs overlooking the water. Last Saturday, we woke up extra early before family gatherings and we drove out to one of our favorite views!

There is a special road, Tuckerman Ave., in Middletown, RI, where my grandparents and aunt/uncle used to own a house overlooking the water. I have vivid childhood memories of us climbing these rocks after dinner each night and watching a local fisherman catch fish each day. Luckily, there is a public area on the same street where you can get the same view they had and it’s called Purgatory Chasm. We parked our car, and took the short walk to the rocks where we were blown away by the view. From those cliffs you could see 2nd Beach, the Norman Bird Sanctuary, and the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge.
I wore this gorgeous blue and white summer blouse and chino pants I found at Anthropologie in Raleigh which made for the perfect outfit once I realized I matched the water. Although this top has longer sleeves than you’d usually wear on a summer day, it is so lightweight, it never even was an issue!
