Transitioning From The Nursery…

A couple of months ago Brooks started escaping his crib which was a sign that it might be time to upgrade to a big boy bed. We actually haven’t changed much about his new room here in our house yet (I was kindof waiting for him to transition to a big bed first). He’s definitely starting to have his own interests these days (monster trucks, race cars, etc.) so there is a part of me that might just end up with one of these (lol)… While brainstorming and searching for inspiration for this new room, I stumbled upon these older images of his very first room. I love that I took photos of it to look back on. I ordered some fabric samples from Wayfair, specifically, for this bed (I’m likely going to go for a full size) and I loved so many of the colorful striped options. I’m not 100% sure which one we’ll go with yet but I do know that there are some pieces from his old room that I will likely continue to use for his new room such as these curtain rods, this navy Ralph Lauren rug, these leather storage bins, etc.

Here’s a little bit of inspiration I found while browsing Wayfair:

I’d love to find a way to use this navy rug in the new space (although the sizing might be a bit small) and I can’t get over the curtain rods repurposed as a clothing rack shown above.

This room will be a 2025 project for sure but it doesn’t hurt to start brainstorming a bit. Although, I definitely still might end up with one of these. We’ll see!
