Black Friday and Cyber Week are just around the corner! Before I close up the computer for a couple days, I wanted to leave you all with a few gift guides I put together to help provide you with ideas and inspiration when it comes to marking things off your holiday shopping list. I’ll be adding more to this page over the next couple of weeks so check back! If you have any specific questions, need a recommendation, or have a suggestion for a specific type of gift guide, please let me know!

Today is about to be a super busy day. I’m working from home all day, have a huge delivery of boxes coming (we’re moving next week!), I have family from Rhode Island and Florida coming in to town, and I might start making some dishes for tomorrow to save some time the morning. We’re going to both my house and TJ’s family’s house so it will be a busy next couple of days. I hope you all have the best Thanksgiving!

Cold Weather Weekend Essentials

You guys! We are less than two weeks away from some really exciting stuff. You know that feeling when you want to share something fun but want to keep it a secret until its “official” incase anything falls through? That’s how I feel. On another note, today we’re talkin’ weekend wear. I never post on a Saturday but, to be honest, this week kicked my bootie and I never found the chance to hit ‘publish’ on this. Anyways, I’m not talking about the weekend-wear you wear out with friends but the kind you wear when you binge watch “Stranger Things” and bake chocolate chip cookies. Specifically, I’m sharing the best joggers for fall/winter and the coziest textured sweater you’ll never want to change out of. Both are a great price too at under $40 and under $70! Cold weather used to be my least favorite type of weather but, as I get older, I really appreciate the little things about winter more… big sweaters, hot chocolate, cozy blankets, cheesy holiday movies. I love it all.

I love these joggers because they are longer than some of the other ones I’ve seen, are a thick and warm material, and are by one of my favorite activewear brands, Zella (size down though! Mine are an XS and they are even a little big). I also love this textured sweater because it reminds me of this one I posted a couple weeks ago but sold out insanely fast, only much more soft!

I am so excited for a couple days of quality family-time next week. TJ are in charge of making mac-and-cheese for 20 people and two Thanksgiving dinners so that is what we will be doing on Wednesday night. About to head to Target right now for all the ingredients and beat the crowds.

Holiday Errands and Staying Organized

This time of year quickly and easily fills up with errands, to-do lists, and more, especially with the holidays only being 3 weeks away! The other weekend, I had to go run some errands for an event at my parent’s house. My family hosted a big cook-out for the NV Foundation (you can read more about that here) and it was a blast! We had several errands to run ahead of time such as picking up food, pumpkins, flowers and other party necessities. I had the awesome opportunity to drive around my favorite SUV for the weekend thanks to Land Rover Cary. If you’ve followed my blog lately, you might have seen where I tested out the Discovery Sport earlier this fall. Well, this time I was able to test out a brand new Range Rover Evoque and let me tell you… I did not want to give this one back. It was pretty much my dream car… interior-wise and exterior-wise.

To help feel more organized as we approach the busiest time of year, I stopped by Moon & Lola in Cameron Village and picked out a new agenda. Lois (the store manager who is so wonderful) helped me find this pretty blue animal-print one by Sweet Caroline Designs (and a plain notebook) and it has already made such a difference in my organization. Moon & Lola is my go-to for unique and stylish paper goods including agendas, birthday cards, notecards, and other stationery. They always have a good variety of paper products that apply to many different styles. It is also the best place to find small gifts whether it be earrings, drinkware, stationery, or more!

We took the Range Rover Evoque to the farmer’s market and picked up some flowers for my mom and some pumpkins for the party. What I loved about this car was the size (not too big, not too small), the beautiful grey/green/blue exterior, the soft light grey leather interior, the panoramic sunroof, and the overall smoothness… there wasn’t a thing I didn’t love about it! The pricing starts at $41,800 too so it is less costly than the regular full-sized Range Rover. I’ll just be over here counting down the years until I can have one of my own some day! You can visit Land Rover Cary to see more details for yourself and to browse their pre-owned vehicles, click here.

Long Chunky Knit Cardigan

I’d like to introduce to you one of my latest favorite cozy things in my closet… this cableknit cardigan. I’ve been wearing it everywhere, especially as soon as I get home from work. Speaking of work, this first week since daylights savings hasn’t been the most productive (anyone else?!)… I’ve found it hard to get much done after coming home in the dark and it probably hasn’t helped that TJ and I started watching ‘Stranger Things’ this week. We are seriously in a deep hole and cannot stop watching it.

Anyways, we’re so close to the weekend! It’s supposed to be a chilly one and I’m thinking some of this soup is going to be made!

Sunday Shortlist Vol. 1

I’ve been wanting to create some sort of weekly, super quick blog post featuring some of my latest favorite finds whether it be a great sale item, new product that launched that week, or a good recipe I’m testing out… just a casual, simple, write-up of my favorite things. I’m kicking off today with a really good sale announcement, an awesome new collection that is launching at Target, and a few other things I’m loving. Happy Sunday!

I’m watching Fixer Upper currently as I’m typing this. I have a real obsession with Chip and Joanna Gaines and their entire Magnolia brand. I’m so excited for their new ongoing line with Target, Hearth and Hand, to launch today in stores and online. They have a lot of affordable Christmas and Thanksgiving decor pieces including wrapping supplies, dining pieces, stockings, gifts, linens, and more. I’ve rounded up my favorites right here:

Shop:

I’ve mentioned this sale on Friday but I wanted to remind you incase you missed it – all sweaters and tops are 40% off at one of my favorite stores. This is a great time to stock up on sweaters for the fall and winter since it is finally starting to stay a little cool. I’ve featured quite a few of these in my latest posts on Instagram and Pinterest!

Shop:

There is also a really great fall sale going on at Nordstrom including a ton of boots, booties, sweaters, tops, and more up to 40% off! These $100 booties are marked down to $60 and I’m tempted to add them to my cart. If you really want to splurge, these Stuart Weitzman booties are 40% too! The sale lasts until November 12th FYI.

What To Wear: Thanksgiving & 40% Off Sale

Happy Friday!

This week has been a great one and I am so excited for a busy (but fun) weekend filled with two birthday dinners for friends/family and a football (tailgate) game (NC State v. Clemson). There are some good sales going on this weekend including LOFT (one of my absolute favorite places to shop) and this reversible poncho and textured burgundy sweater are 40% off this weekend. This outfit reminds me of the perfect Thanksgiving outfit for when you still want to stay casual but also want to feel put together. This Thanksgiving, I have family coming in to town from FL and RI and I cannot wait!

The $19 Sweater You Need This Fall

Happy Halloween! It has been a week (and it is only Tuesday might I mention). I didn’t end up dressing up this year so I’ll have to make up for it next time. Our dog, Colbie, had surgery yesterday so we’re just watching Hocus Pocus and eating stuffed peppers and ice-cream cones tonight.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen my latest favorite sweater… this $19.99 chunky knit turtleneck sweater available in a couple of different colors. IT IS PERFECT. I couldn’t believe the price and quality so I had to share it before it sells out again (if it looks sold out, keep checking back and I’m sure it’ll restock!).

I also am so very, very, very excited it is November tomorrow! There is so much to look forward to, especially towards the end of this month!

5 Gift Ideas for Your Engaged BFF

In a little over a month, TJ and I will have been married for 6 months and I can’t believe it! I know most of us know someone who is currently engaged or will soon be engaged so I wanted to provide a few quick and easy gift ideas you might not have thought about for those bride-to-be best friends of yours! I always love putting together DIY gift baskets for special occasions and all of these products below are perfect for that type of gift! Now that I’ve gone through the wedding planning process, I can tell you that all of these items are 100% bride-approved and also much-needed throughout the all of the planning and festivities! So let’s get started…

BRIDES Magazine

Once your bff is engaged, just know that there is honestly no such thing as having too many magazines. I loved picking up a magazine whenever I had time just to gain inspiration and ideas for our big day. BRIDES is one of the leading magazines in the industry and helps guide, inspire, and encourage brides through the engagement, wedding, and honeymoon. When I got engaged, I really appreciated friends gifting me magazines because it helped give me a place to start during an overwhelming but exciting time! Although I had created a secret Pinterest board leading up to that day (that’s normal, right?), it was nice to be able to have something up to date with dress styles, best honeymoon spots, and more. For a longer engagement, you might want to consider gifting a subscription to a wedding magazine!

Sparkling Wine (ft. Cinzano)

Cinzano is one of Italy’s most iconic brands of sparking wines so I was excited to see a bottle included in this ‘Babbleboxx’! You can never really go wrong with gifting a bride a bottle of Prosecco during such a celebratory time of life. With showers, parties, and long nights of planning, typically this type of gift is much appreciated!

Maidenform Shapewear

If you know your best friend’s size, Maidenform shapewear is honestly one of the best things to have during an engagement. With different types of dresses she’ll be trying on, it is best to have some nude shapewear from an affordable and high-quality brand such as Maidenform. Maidenform designs intimate apparel that provides wardrobe solutions to compliment any woman’s sense of style and has been a leader in the industry for a long time. Throughout my engagement I was constantly attending showers or other events that required these types of undergarments so I am a firm believer that a girl can never have too many pairs.

Diamonds International ft. Safi Kilima (something blue)

Safi Kilima (meaning “pure mountain” in Swahili) is a women’s tanzanite jewelry brand offering beautiful pieces that make the perfect “something blue” for any bride. This specific bracelet I have is under $200 and would make the perfect special gift for a close friend or sister to wear on her wedding day or at the events leading up to it. You can click here to see what other types of bridal jewelry they offer as far as earrings, necklaces, and more.

Beauty Essentials ft. Nair

There are so many beauty essentials for brides but one specific brand that comes to mind is Nair, one of the leaders in hair removal. Nair offers a wide range of in-home and long-lasting wax products which only makes one’s life easier. Before our wedding, I was honestly worried about my armpits being hairy but I made the best decision ever to wax them ahead of time resulting in me feeling more confident and comfortable on our wedding day. This would be the perfect gift to add in to a basket of bridal goodies for any bride prepping for her big day. Nair is actually having a giveaway where you can enter to win a sample of Nair™ Wax Read-Strips for Face & Bikini 10/23-11/8! This giveaway is sponsored by Babbleboxx.com on behalf of Nair and is open to US Residents only. To enter the giveaway, click here!

Activewear Wish List

Leggings: Outdoor Voices

Is there such thing as a post-wedding fitness hangover? I think I have one of those and it has lasted for about 4 months… Fortunately, I have felt pretty motivated to get back into the swing of things this week and what has helped me has been surprising! I’ve discovered my number one favorite activewear legging brand. These leggings are made of the most comfortable material and (this is weird, but) I’ve even tried sleeping in them so that I can more easily make a morning workout after just hopping out of the bed. They come in a bunch of colors and styles but you’ve got to try them for yourself.

I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite activewear pieces below including leggings, tops, sports bras, water bottles, etc. I’m loving these sneakers and I’m really loving seeing all of these activewear cardigans that make it easy to just throw on before you head out the door in the cold (it’s actually been chilly in the mornings lately and I’m loving it!).

Saturday’s Are For…

What is your favorite day of the week? Saturday will forever remain my favorite day of the week and I think most people would agree. I have my ideal Saturday and Sunday scenarios, especially during this time of year. My favorite type of Saturday is spending time outside, exploring local areas with my husband, and trying new things. A few Saturday’s back, TJ and I had the opportunity to cruise around in the newest Jaguar F-Type from Jaguar Cary for the day. When I first saw this car, I was really excited because I had never even driven a convertible before. I honestly can’t even remember a time when I’ve ridden in someone else’s convertible so I knew this was going to be so much fun. It was 80 degrees, sunny, and the perfect day to drive off to get some lunch at a restaurant we’ve never tried before.

One of our go-to weekend spots to eat is Cameron Village; although, this time we decided to try out Tazza Kitchen, a restaurant that neither of us had been to! My friend, Betsy, lives over in Cameron Village and is a frequent customer, always raving about the food, so I was excited to try it out for the first time. I was surprised to hear that the food was inspired by the ‘Baja countryside’ and the Italian coast (and many spots in between). I can’t think of any better combination, really. TJ and I ordered a white pizza and guacamole/chips/salsa (some of the best I’ve ever had). Both were so delicious and we cannot wait to go back! I think the best part about the restaurant (well, other than the food) was the outdoor dining area set underneath cafe lights and blue umbrellas. It is one of my favorite times of year to eat outside and Tazza’s patio did not disappoint. Another plus? You can order online! Next time, I have to try their ‘gelato & cake’ on the menu for dessert (does salted caramel gelato and almond/orange flourless cake together not sound like the best combination!?!).

Back to this insanely cool car though… The F-Type is is Jaguar’s true sports car. It took me a little while to get used to there not being a back seat but, by the end of the day, I was loving driving it. It was so much fun and although I might not be an orange sports car convertible type of person every day, I was that day! I really wish I could drive that car every Saturday. The interior was beautiful and the performance was top notch.

I think it’s important to keep life interesting and keep trying new things, whether that is just trying out a new restaurant down the road or cruising down the highway in a convertible with the top down. Sometimes life can feel repetitive doing the same thing each day but if you make adventure and trying new things a priority, life is anything but!

Thank you to Cameron Village and Jaguar Cary for sponsoring this post.

Outfits Lately

Cuffed Ribbed Sweater || Distressed High Rise Levi’s (best weekend casual jeans ever) || Floral Reversible Scarf || Ankle Booties (see more Sam Edelman booties here)

If you follow my instagram, you’ve probably seen these lately. Not everyone uses that app so I thought I’d compile my latest outfits I’ve been loving, especially because it is actually starting to feel like fall now. On a side note, I feel like I’ve semi-neglected the blog a bit lately simply due to life. I’m usually in a mood for planning posts months in advance but, lately, it just feels like I’m in a season of unknowns… unsure of where we’ll be living in a couple of months, unsure of where to focus my time and energy, and this past month was full of wedding celebrations and birthdays which left little time outside of work. I’m honestly just trying to figure out how to manage my time and attention lately. I still haven’t gotten back into the fitness routine completely since the wedding so TJ and I are determined the make it to a weight-training class tonight. We’ll see how that goes! My older sister recommended this book so I started reading that last night too!

Denim Shorts for Fall

I know it is October but the weather has felt semi-summery lately… especially with the humidity in NC. My solution (outside of work)? A dark pair of fall-appropriate denim shorts and an open cardigan you can layer with. These particular Agolde Denim Shorts have been one of my favorite late summer/early fall finds and I love wearing these on the weekend. The cardigan comes in several color options and each one looks perfect paired with this gingham blouse. Just an all around great outfit combo if you ask me.

I am SO ready for the weekend. I’ll be celebrating one of my good friends’ 30th birthdays, doing some apartment organization, and finding a good chili recipe to try out!
