Friday Q&A

I’m liking the idea of saving Friday’s for just chatting random things, answering ?’s, and keeping it simple. I’m thinking each Friday I’ll answer a few questions I’ve received in emails/DM’s/etc. I’ll try to think of a more creative name over time. 🙂

This week in a nutshell:

– started reading this devotional book each day by recommendation of Madison.
– went to a hand-lettering class at Thanks a Latte hosted by my friend, Laura.
– started planning/designing a new [small] space in our house.
– tried out a new co-working space in Raleigh, Spaces.
– ordered a new eye cream (a couple different ones, actually) thanks to your recommendations!

Yes! I try to still do their “studio classes” or daily moves 3-5x per week. I am not in a stage of life where I’m intensely into working out and having abs but I pretty much have to workout for my mind to stay focused and for overall positivity and health. I love it because it is different every day and you can do it at home! A few months ago I wrote more about Tone it Up here.

I love Holly Springs. It has a lot of growth coming in the next year, especially with their “downtown”. I love following along with the plans for 2019! When we moved here, we knew we would go to Raleigh less but we still go 1-2x a week. There are a lot of things to do in Holly Springs though. My favorites include: going to the farmer’s market downtown on Saturday mornings (we ride our bikes there sometimes or bring our dog), go to the local parks (Bass Lake, Sugg Farm, and Parrish Womble… luckily we live very close to all 3), order mac ‘n cheese or the ‘tavern salad’ at My Way Tavern downtown, watch a baseball game at Ting Park, have a glass of wine at Niche Wine Lounge, drive a few miles down the road to Aviator Brewing Co., catch a service at Hope Community Church (technically, in Apex but 5 min from us). We go to Apex often since it’s so close but we try to find new things to do closer to home. At Sugg Farm, you’ll find a lot of annual festivals like Dog Day in the Park, HollyFest, Main St. Christmas, and more. One thing I’ve noticed is that the town is very, very family-friendly and there are a lot of events for kids, specifically. Another spot that has been having more and more events is the little center that Thanks a Latte is located in, Main Street Square. TJ and I like to visit Thanks a Latte on the weekends whenever we can! It’s the cutest little coffee shop that will just warm your heart.

Another thing to note: HS is super close to Cary/Apex/Fuquay… so there’s usually also festivals, live music, events there too. Waverly Place is not too far from us at all and they have Wind Down Wednesdays.

Raleigh is definitely where it’s at for the best dining spots. A few of my favorites are: Sitti, Taverna Agora, Whiskey Kitchen, Raleigh Beer Garden, The Cortez, Gravy, Brewery Bhavana. If you’re in the mood for some traditional southern breakfast (like a giant greasy biscuit), Big Ed’s City Market is a fave. I love Sola Coffee which is a little farther out (from us) and Happy and Hale for quicker bites to eat. There’s so many new ones coming in the next year too that I can’t wait to try… O-ku Sushi (super popular in Charleston), Barcelona Wine Bar, a new coffee shop in the new Dillon called Heirloom. There’s a new ramen place coming to town too. SO MANY restaurants, so little time. Aside from dining in Raleigh, I love going to concerts when we can (so many music venues), the State Farmer’s Market, and seeing what’s new popping up on Glenwood Ave.

I’ve written a few posts that go more into depth with blogging so I’ll leave the links here and here! I started my blog in 2014 and there isn’t one specific reason I started but more of a variety of ways I felt called to create it until finally I just went for it. If you’re interested, definitely read this one.

TJ and I have a date tonight to see Keith Urban & Kelsea Ballerini perform and I cannot wait to see either of them! We’re also hoping to try out a couple of new restaurants this weekend so I’ll keep you posted on anything good! Incase you missed recent posts on here, I shared my July favorites, Nordstrom Sale picks, and a fall capsule wardrobe.  xoxo
